Alleyn Court is a traditional day preparatory school. Founded in 1904 as a boys' school, it moved to its present site in 1993 and became co-educational. We accept pupils between the ages of 2.5 and 11.

The school offers impressive facilities for Science, Design Technology and Computing. It is also successful in a broad range of sports and all pupils are given basic coaching in the major sports. A new Sports Hall was opened in June 1999.

Pupils are encouraged to take part in and enjoy a variety of activities and to aim for high standards in all aspects of school life.

Pupils' progress is monitored monthly through gradings and reports written termly. The school aims to help all children to be confident and successful in achieving their best.

Our Pre-preparatory department, with bases in both Westcliff and Thorpe Bay, offers children a Montessori-based Early Years experience which develops and enhances natural abilities and encourages social development and self-esteem.

We seek in partnership with our parents, to prepare pupils for entrance to major independent secondary schools at 11 and entrance tests to local selective schools. Our record of success is consistently high.
