LIVE TO LEARN AND LEARN TO LIVE
'I have never come across such a genuinely happy bunch of boys, parents
and staff, all supporting each other in such a relaxed, but purposeful atmosphere.
You've got a magic formula there!'
Visiting Public School Headmaster after Speech Day

LOCATION
Woodcote is conveniently situated on the edge of Windlesham between the M3 and the M4. Our site includes 30 acres of games pitches, an indoor pool, a rope assault course, woods and plenty of open space where boys can be boys! Central London is 25 miles, Heathrow Airport 30 minutes by car and Gatwick 45 minutes. Trains from Sunningdale (2 miles away) take 40 minutes to London Waterloo.

PASTORAL CARE
Woodcote House is the ultimate family-run school, offering a perfect 'home from home' for 100 boys. 'Mr Nick' is the third generation Paterson to be Headmaster and many of the family are involved in the school. He and 'Mrs Nick', together with the settled and committed staff, many of whom live on site with their own families, provide an extremely caring and supportive environment. Boys are encouraged to develop their individual talents, grow in confidence and learn tolerance and respect from living with others. A Preparatory School in the truest sense, Woodcote ensures its boys move on to Public School at 13, ready and able to embrace the opportunities and challenges ahead.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS
Class size at Woodcote is kept to an enviable average of 10. Our 100% success rate at Common Entrance and remarkable scholarship record over recent years demonstrate the value of the individual attention given to each boy, regardless of ability. Parents are kept informed of their son's progress with regular grade cards and written reports; there are also many opportunities for more informal discussion.

SPORTING ACHIEVEMENT
Cricket, rugby, football and hockey are all coached and played extremely successfully for a small school, and we field teams of all age levels and abilities. Matches are played on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons and parents are always welcome to come and support the teams and enjoy a delicious Match Tea! Boys also have the opportunity to experience an ever-increasing variety of individual sports.

MUSIC & DRAMA
Woodcote boys are as keen to be part of the Orchestra and our excellent Choir as they are to be in the 1st XI. As many as 80 boys learn at least one musical instrument and there are several concerts throughout the year when boys have the chance to perform, whatever their standard. We stage at least two legendary dramatic productions each year and every boy is involved in some way.

FREE TIME
With 'Prep' done first thing in the morning, there is plenty of time in the evenings set aside for a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. Many of these can also be enjoyed on Wednesday afternoons (each member of staff offers a 'Club') and at weekends. Favourite Woodcote activities are 'hutting' (building camps in the woods) and 'cooking' (frying potatoes on camp fires). Boys enjoy a trip out most Sunday afternoons - possibly dry-slope skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking or canoeing.
